Security forces in the West Bank instituted widespread road blocks and closed several Palestinian cities, including Hebron, following a shooting attack that left five Israelis injured. Emergency services and the Israeli military confirmed that the incident occurred on the southern portion of the occupied territory, leaving two of the victims in critical condition while three others sustained mild to moderate injuries.

The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that security forces were ordered to blockade Hebron and prepare for a potential complete closure of the entire Palestinian territory. According to the Israel Defense Forces, two armed attackers arrived in a vehicle carrying an M16 rifle, a handgun, and a large quantity of ammunition intended for a larger-scale assault.

Israeli soldiers shot and killed the two men as they attempted to flee the scene following a prolonged exchange of gunfire. Chief of the General Staff Ejal Zamir stated that the rapid response of the troops prevented a significantly more severe attack.

Zamir also ordered preparations for the potential deployment of additional forces within the Central Command as tensions remain high in the region. The military measures and closures reflect an immediate escalation in security protocols across the affected areas.
