The public radiotelevision corporation in Spain is in mourning following the confirmation of the deaths of two of its most veteran staff members, camera operator Pedro Fernández Vara and sound technician Enrique Bravo Guerrero. Known affectionately by their colleagues as "Perico" and "Kike," both professionals spent more than forty years working behind the scenes for the public network.

Throughout their extensive careers, Fernández and Bravo formed an essential part of the technical crews responsible for bringing numerous landmark programs and documentaries to viewers on La 1 and La 2. Their labor supported legendary productions that now form a vital part of the broadcaster's audiovisual history.

Among the prominent titles that featured their professional contributions are acclaimed documentary and cultural series such as "Al filo de lo imposible," "Imrescindibles," "Ciudades Patrimonio de la Humanidad," and the long-running agricultural and rural sector program "Agrosfera." Their work helped shape decades of television broadcasting from the Prado del Rey headquarters since the late 1980s.

The corporate communications department shared the news through official social media channels, paying tribute to the immense audiovisual legacy left behind by the two technicians. The statement underscored their value as exceptional colleagues and dedicated professionals within the media industry.

In its official message, the corporation stated, "The RTVE family is in mourning. Camera operator Pedro Fernández Vara and sound technician Enrique Bravo Guerrero have passed away. Two great professionals who worked for more than 40 years in this house on the best programs and documentaries... Two great colleagues who leave a great legacy." The organization also extended heartfelt condolences and strong support to their families, friends, and loved ones.

The passing of Perico and Kike marks a painful loss for the network's community, particularly for the peers who spent four decades sharing the daily challenges of television production. While specific details regarding the causes of death have not been made public, the tributes highlight the vital and enduring contributions of technical personnel who work away from the camera's focus to build television history.
