The Philadelphia 76ers take on the struggling Chicago Bulls at the United Center following a heavy defeat against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Philadelphia 76ers faced the Chicago Bulls at the United Center on Sunday afternoon, looking to rebound from a recent loss. Philadelphia entered the matchup with an 8-2 record, sitting at the top of the Eastern Conference, while the rebuilding Bulls hosted the game carrying a 1-7 record and a six-game losing streak.

Philadelphia traveled to Chicago trying to recover after being defeated 119-95 by the Cleveland Cavaliers in an NBA Cup matchup on Friday night. During that game, Cleveland's Donovan Mitchell and Evan Mobley combined for 45 points, handing the 76ers only their second loss of the season. Meanwhile, Chicago has struggled on both ends of the floor during its lengthy skid.

The two teams previously met earlier in the week, with the 76ers securing a 126-107 victory. Despite the double-digit loss, the Bulls showed competitiveness for most of the evening by pushing the pace and getting into the paint. Chicago attempted 32 free throws in that contest, though they converted only 21 of them, and utilized their athleticism to grab 13 offensive rebounds.

The matchup also featured a historic milestone for 41-year-old 76ers star LeBron James. In the first quarter, James hit a three-pointer for his first points of the contest, officially becoming the all-time leading scorer against the Chicago Bulls. James made his professional debut against the Bulls on December 20, 2003, as a rookie with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Both squads managed various roster adjustments and injury concerns heading into Sunday's game. The Bulls listed center Nic Claxton as questionable as he works his way back from a hamstring injury that has delayed his debut for the team following his arrival in the offseason. Jalen Smith has stepped into the starting center role for Chicago in the meantime.

Philadelphia's injury report featured several frontcourt absences, including Adem Bona with a spine issue, Dominick Barlow with a back injury, and Ariel Hukporti, who remains sidelined for the season with an Achilles tendon injury. Star center Joel Embiid was listed as probable with a foot issue.

For Chicago, rookie Caleb Wilson looked to bounce back following a difficult performance against the New York Knicks earlier in the week, where he scored just five points in a season-low 22 minutes. Wilson previously put up 24 points in his first career meeting against the Philadelphia squad earlier in the season.

The Sunday afternoon contest was broadcast on the Chicago Sports Network and carried on 104.3 FM The Score, as Tiago Splitter's squad aimed to find an upset victory and snap their losing slide.
