Olympiacos dominates Kalamata FC in a 5-0 victory

Olympiacos delivered a commanding performance on Sunday, October 25, 2026, defeating Kalamata FC 5-0 at the Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium during the eighth round of the Greek Super League. The home side controlled the match from the opening whistle, securing a dominant win in front of their supporters.

Portuguese forward Jota Silva emerged as the standout player of the fixture, guiding the offensive effort with a remarkable hat-trick. Silva found the back of the net twice before halftime, scoring in the 37th and 40th minutes, and quickly added his third just after the break in the 46th minute to solidify the team's advantage.

Mexican striker Armando "Hormiga" González earned a spot in the starting lineup following his decisive performance in the UEFA Europa League against Sparta Praha. González stayed active and mobile in the attacking third throughout his time on the pitch, contributing to the team's offensive movement before being substituted in the 61st minute.

With a comfortable three-goal cushion, the coaching staff introduced Marius Mouandilmadji to inject fresh energy into the attack. Mouandilmadji rewarded the decision by scoring the fourth goal of the match in the 74th minute, capitalizing on the spaces left by the visiting defense.

Winger Leon Bailey completed the scoring spree by netting the fifth and final goal in the 85th minute. As the clock wound down, Olympiacos maintained comfortable possession of the ball while fans celebrated the comprehensive result from the stands.

The resounding victory temporarily placed Olympiacos at the top of the championship standings. However, their continued stay in first place depends on the outcome of the fixture between Panathinaikos and Volos, as a failure by Panathinaikos to win would ensure the team retains the league leadership.
