Multiple Arrests Made in Mumbai Firing Incident Targeting Actor Tiger Shroff
Authorities have taken several suspects into custody following a shooting near the Bollywood actor's vehicle in Mumbai.
Mumbai Police have arrested multiple suspects in connection with the recent shooting incident targeting actor Tiger Shroff's vehicle in the city's Juhu area. The attack occurred on the evening of October 18, when three unidentified assailants on a motorcycle opened fire near the actor's car as he was leaving after a football match near Pushpa Park.
While Tiger Shroff escaped the incident uninjured, his driver and a bystander sustained injuries during the shooting. A case was subsequently registered at the Juhu police station by the Mumbai Police Crime Branch's Anti-Extortion Cell, initiating a wide-ranging investigation into the assassination attempt and potential organized crime links.
Investigators have expanded their operations across multiple states, leading to a total of multiple arrests. Three primary suspects—identified as Rehan, Ritik Kurmi, and Phool Singh—were intercepted by police in Kota, Rajasthan, while allegedly attempting to flee toward Nepal via Surat and Jaipur after abandoning their motorcycle in Andheri.
The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court at Esplanade in Mumbai ordered that these three main accused be remanded to the custody of the Mumbai Police Anti-Extortion Cell until October 31 to allow for thorough interrogation regarding the conspiracy.
In addition to the primary suspects, law enforcement agencies from Delhi, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh coordinated simultaneous raids that resulted in additional arrests. According to police officials, these individuals are believed to form part of a broader firearm-supplying network that procured and transported the weapons used in the attack.
Investigators stated that two of the newly detained suspects traveled to Amritsar to collect a pistol and twenty rounds of ammunition. Two female suspects allegedly smuggled the firearm into Mumbai by train, later handing it over directly to the attackers, while another male suspect stayed behind to provide logistical support.
Although a viral social media post claimed that the Lawrence Bishnoi gang was responsible for the shooting, police officials have noted that the motive remains under investigation and the online claim is still being verified. Authorities continue to examine potential connections to foreign-based gang associates.
Amid the ongoing criminal investigation, Tiger Shroff has remained publicly silent regarding the shooting. However, the actor drew public attention when he made his first known social media activity since the incident by interacting with an Instagram post featuring a song from his debut film, Heropanti.
