The municipal government of Madrid has announced the return of its popular Pasea Madrid program, a series of free guided tours designed to provide residents and visitors with deeper access to the capital's cultural and natural heritage. This season, scheduled to run from November 10 to December 30, will feature 963 individual sessions across 15 different routes, offering a total of 21,610 available spots.

Organized by the city's Department of Culture, Tourism, and Sport, the program aims to educate the public on the historical significance of various landmarks. Officials noted that demand for these tours is typically high, with available slots often being claimed within minutes of the registration opening. To manage this, the city has implemented a structured booking system.

The latest edition introduces three new itineraries, two of which are closely tied to the exhibition 'Theater of Greatness: Art, Architecture, and City in Baroque Madrid,' currently hosted at the Fernán Gómez Cultural Center. These new routes include 'Madrid, New Babylon,' which examines the daily life and courtly requirements of the 17th century, and 'Madrid, New Jerusalem,' which focuses on the religious and ecclesiastical influence on the city's urban development.

A third new addition invites participants to explore the Quinta de Torre Arias, a historic estate in the San Blas-Canillejas district. Declared a site of Cultural Interest in 2022, the property features a palace, traditional stables, and extensive gardens, serving as a prime example of the city's historical recreational estates.

Beyond the new offerings, the program maintains several established favorites. Participants can continue to explore the life and work of Francisco de Goya, visit the bunker at El Capricho Park, tour the historic Frontón Beti Jai, and learn about the contributions of women to the city's history through the 'Manuela Malasaña and Other Women' route. Other recurring tours cover the Paseo del Prado, the Buen Retiro gardens, and the Casa de la Villa.

Registration for the tours is set to open on Wednesday, November 4. To ensure accessibility for older residents, the city has reserved specific sessions for individuals aged 65 and over. These individuals will have priority access to the reservation platform beginning at 10:00 a.m., while the general public will be able to book their spots starting at 12:00 p.m. through the official municipal website.
