Lufthansa Flight Attendant Dies in Tragic Hotel Pool Accident in India

A Lufthansa flight attendant and another foreign hotel guest died following a tragic incident at a luxury hotel in Bengaluru, India. Local media reports indicate that the two men may have suffered an electrical shock while swimming in the hotel pool, though police investigations into the exact cause of the accident remain ongoing.
Lufthansa confirmed in Frankfurt that a crew member lost his life in an accident on Friday during a layover in Bengaluru, formerly known as Bangalore. Out of respect for the privacy of those involved, the airline withheld specific details regarding the sequence of events and the identity of the deceased employee.
"Our deepest sympathy goes out to the family, relatives, and friends of the deceased crew member," the company stated in an official release. The German Federal Foreign Office also verified that a German citizen had tragically died during the incident.
According to reports from the Indian television network NDTV, the alarming event occurred when the two men entered the third-floor swimming pool. Media outlets identified the second victim as a citizen of Slovakia.
During attempts to rescue the two men, a hotel guest from the United States and an Indian pool attendant sustained injuries. Both injured individuals received medical treatment at a local hospital and are currently out of danger.
Indian media reported that the hotel pool has been temporarily closed to allow for maintenance work. Management at the luxury hotel has pledged full cooperation with local law enforcement authorities as they work to determine how the tragedy occurred.
Bengaluru, widely recognized as India's premier high-tech hub and often referred to as the country's Silicon Valley, hosts a massive concentration of international corporations and technology enterprises. Analysts note that the incident appears to be an isolated tragic event outside of flight operations, with no immediate impact expected on the airline's business performance.
