Cruzeiro forward Kaio Jorge made headlines on Thursday, October 29, by scoring against Atletico-MG during a high-stakes Campeonato Brasileiro match at Arena MRV. The striker opened the scoring in the early minutes of the game and directed a provocative celebration toward the opposing fans.

The opening goal occurred just three minutes into the first half. Following a cross from Keny Arroyo, Kaio Jorge anticipated defender Vitão and struck a left-footed shot past goalkeeper Gabriel Delfim, leaving him with no chance to make a save.

Immediately after scoring, the number 19 put his index finger to his mouth to signal silence to the home crowd. He then pointed toward the section reserved for Cruzeiro supporters and flashed a gesture associated with the Máfia Azul organized fan group.

The incident added another chapter to the player's notable history against the rival club. Entering the match with seven goals in ten previous appearances against Atletico-MG, Kaio Jorge extended his impressive tally to eight goals in eleven total games, alongside two assists.

This rivalry encounter follows previous tensions from their Copa do Brasil matchups. Back in September, the forward had already antagonized Atletico-MG supporters by scoring at Arena MRV and celebrating with the phrase "Daddy is here."

Since joining Cruzeiro in 2024 following a stint in Italy with Juventus, Kaio Jorge has established himself as a central figure in the team's offensive lineup. Meanwhile, in separate youth developments, Atletico-MG's under-20 side secured a spot in the Minas Gerais Under-20 Championship final after defeating Coimbra 3-1 on Friday, October 2, completing an 8-2 aggregate victory.
