Jürgen Klopp Announces German National Team Squad for Nations League Matches
The head coach has selected a mix of veteran talent and emerging stars for the upcoming international fixtures against Serbia and the Netherlands.
German national team head coach Jürgen Klopp has officially announced his 24-man squad for the final two matches of the Nations League group stage. The roster, which features a blend of experienced players and young prospects, will prepare for a challenging schedule, including an away match against Serbia on November 13 in Belgrade and a home fixture against the Netherlands on November 16 in Berlin.
During an exclusive interview on DFB-TV, Klopp addressed the difficulty of finalizing the selection following the expansive 44-man squad utilized in September. "We have a colorful mix of very young and quite experienced players," Klopp stated. He emphasized that the high level of competition for roster spots is a positive indicator of the depth of talent currently available, noting that many players made a compelling case for inclusion.
The squad features a significant presence from FC Bayern Munich, which leads all clubs with seven representatives. Among the Bayern contingent are established internationals such as Joshua Kimmich and Jonathan Tah, alongside rising talents like Nathaniel Brown, Tom Bischof, Aleksandar Pavlovic, and Lennart Karl. Goalkeeper Jonas Urbig, who recently filled in for the injured Manuel Neuer at the club level, has also earned a spot in the national team setup.
In the attacking department, Klopp has opted to include Niclas Füllkrug, whose recent goalscoring form for Werder Bremen helped overcome previous concerns regarding his age. He joins Eintracht Frankfurt's Younes Ebnoutalib and Arsenal's Kai Havertz to round out the forward line. Additionally, the squad includes Wael Mohya, a U-21 international who has received his first call-up to the senior team.
Beyond the national team news, the German Football Association (DFB) has confirmed the schedule for the DFB-Pokal round of 16. The knockout matches are set to take place on December 1 and 2. High-profile matchups include title-holders Bayern Munich hosting Hertha BSC, while Bayer Leverkusen will face RB Leipzig in a televised clash. Other notable fixtures include Eintracht Frankfurt against Borussia Dortmund, providing fans with a busy schedule of domestic cup action.
The DFB continues to utilize its digital platform, DFB-TV, to provide comprehensive coverage of these developments. In addition to the national team announcements, the channel is broadcasting a variety of live events, including Futsal World Cup qualifying matches, regional league fixtures, and women's professional soccer. These broadcasts remain a central hub for supporters to follow the latest updates across all levels of German football.
