Ubisoft recently announced that it has no active remakes of Assassin's Creed in development, shifting its primary focus toward future chapters in the franchise. Despite the success of Assassin's Creed: Black Flag Resynced, the company noted that its teams are concentrating on unannounced projects featuring new settings and stories.

While no immediate remakes are underway, Ubisoft stated that it remains open to revisiting classic titles in the future. The developer also provided updates on upcoming major releases, including Assassin's Creed Hexe, which is expected to share more details in 2027 with a darker thematic approach, and Assassin's Creed Invictus, an ambitious multiplayer experience currently undergoing testing.

In other superhero gaming news, Insomniac Games may be expanding its Marvel universe beyond Spider-Man and Wolverine. Recent job listings posted by the studio suggest the development of an unannounced project featuring multiple playable heroes with distinct combat mechanics.

The job postings have fueled speculation regarding a potential X-Men game, a project that previously surfaced during a massive internal data leak in December 2023. While Insomniac has not officially confirmed an X-Men title, industry followers note that a potential release could align with future timelines, though no official launch date or platform has been announced.

Meanwhile, retro gaming enthusiasts have seen new releases this week with the arrival of Croc 2: Kingdom of the Gobbos. Developed and published by Argonaut Games, the remastered version features updated controls, a refined camera system, enhanced visuals, and bonus materials for players.

Additionally, sports gaming fans can take advantage of the Football Manager 27 Launch Preview. The preview offers free access across multiple PC storefronts, giving players an opportunity to experience the game modes and the new Shuffle Draft multiplayer feature before the official full release arrives in November.
