Ferrari Driver Charles Leclerc Welcomes First Child With Wife Alexandra
The Formula 1 star announced the birth of a baby girl named Bianca just ahead of the upcoming race weekend in Brazil.
Ferrari Formula 1 driver Charles Leclerc and his wife, Alexandra, have announced the birth of their first child together, a baby girl named Bianca. The couple shared the happy news through a social media post displaying a photograph of the newborn's legs and feet, captioned with her name and birth date.
According to the announcements, Bianca was born on Tuesday, November 3, 2026. The arrival marks a major personal milestone for the 29-year-old Monegasque driver and his wife, who were married in a private ceremony in Monaco earlier this year in February after beginning their public relationship in 2023 and announcing their engagement late last year.
The news drew an outpouring of warm wishes and congratulations from across the Formula 1 community. Fellow drivers and teams, including Carlos Sainz, Oscar Piastri, Mercedes, and Ferrari itself, publicly welcomed the newborn to the world. Observers have also noted that the baby's name, Bianca, may serve as a heartfelt tribute to Leclerc's late godfather and close friend, Jules Bianchi.
With the birth occurring just days before the São Paulo Grand Prix at Interlagos, Leclerc's schedule for the race weekend has shifted. Ferrari confirmed that the driver traveled home to Monaco to be with his family following the Mexican Grand Prix, resulting in a delayed arrival in Brazil that caused him to miss Thursday's media commitments.
To help manage the schedule adjustments, Ferrari appointed reserve driver Dino Beganovic to step into the SF-26 during the first free practice session alongside Lewis Hamilton. This substitution also allowed the Italian constructor to fulfill its ongoing regulatory obligation to provide a rookie driver with practice seat time during the season.
Leclerc joins a growing list of fathers on the current Formula 1 grid, which includes drivers such as Max Verstappen, Fernando Alonso, Sergio Perez, and Nico Hulkenberg. Despite the whirlwind timing surrounding the birth and the travel logistics, Leclerc had previously stated that he did not intend to miss a Grand Prix.
As the 2026 Formula 1 season enters its final stretch with four rounds remaining, Leclerc currently sits fifth in the drivers' championship standings. Following his return to the paddock, the Ferrari driver will aim to balance his new family priorities with the final competitive pushes of the racing calendar.
