Donald Trump Criticizes Fox News Election Coverage
The former president expressed dissatisfaction with the network's reporting and political analysts during election week.
Former President Donald Trump publicly criticized Fox News' election coverage on Tuesday, expressing frustration with the network's presentation of pre-election results. Through a series of posts on his Truth Social platform, Trump specifically targeted political analyst Jessica Tarlov, describing her in derogatory terms and stating he found her commentary difficult to watch.
Trump's comments arrived as the network provided extensive coverage of the 2026 midterm elections, including live updates on Senate races across the country. While the network continued its reporting on various contests, such as the Virginia Class 2 seat and local races in states like Florida, the former president accused the outlet of bias.
In his social media posts, the former president claimed that Fox News polls were insulting and characterized the network's questioning as a "hit job." He further alleged that the channel's ratings have declined by 27% because of its focus on Democratic figures, whom he referred to as "Trump Deranged Dumocrats." Trump asserted that his own popularity remains higher than ever, citing internal figures to support his position.
This is not the first time Trump has voiced grievances regarding the network's editorial direction. Throughout the fall, he has frequently accused Fox News of prioritizing coverage of Democratic lawmakers, such as Senator Chuck Schumer and Representative Hakeem Jeffries, over what he described as "real patriots." In October, he also criticized the network for allegedly failing to provide sufficient coverage of his campaign rallies in states including Ohio, Alabama, Texas, and Oklahoma.
The network has maintained its standard election reporting operations, providing live results for U.S. Senate and House of Representatives races, as well as state and local contests. Local affiliates, such as FOX 35 in Orlando, have also been active in broadcasting real-time updates from officials like the Supervisor of Elections for Seminole County, Florida, as voters cast ballots in the general election.
Trump's ongoing tension with the network appears to stem from his belief that the organization is attempting to remain overly politically correct. He has previously warned that if the network continues its current coverage patterns, viewers might abandon the channel. Despite these public rebukes, the network has continued to broadcast its scheduled election programming, including comprehensive tracking of the 2026 midterm results.
