Cultural and literary events are taking center stage as organizations announce new initiatives to celebrate local heritage, arts, and history. From large-scale literature festivals to academic book releases and student quiz competitions, communities are preparing for a robust season of cultural engagement.

The Malayala Manorama Hortus literature and culture festival is scheduled to take place from December 3 to 6 at Subhash Park in Kochi. The event will feature world-renowned authors and artists, offering a platform for literature enthusiasts to immerse themselves in cultural discussions.

Organizers have opened volunteer registration for individuals aged 18 and older who wish to participate in running the multi-day festival. Selected volunteers will undergo training prior to the event, and interested participants can contact organizers by phone or complete an online form.

In addition to the literature festival, Manorama Online, in partnership with Sanskara School in Kochi, is organizing the 'Kerala to Keralam Quiz 2026'. Scheduled for November 1 at Sanskara School, the mega quiz marks the 70th anniversary of the state's formation and features a total prize pool of 100,000 rupees.

The competition is structured into school and college categories, with students from classes 8 through 12 competing in the former and undergraduate and postgraduate students in the latter. Teams will compete in pairs, facing questions regarding Kerala's history, traditions, culture, literature, geography, and current affairs.

Top-performing teams from a preliminary test will advance to the finals hosted by quizmaster A R Ranjith. Winners across the separate categories will receive cash prizes ranging from 10,000 to 25,000 rupees, alongside certificates and special prizes for all finalists.

Meanwhile, literary developments are also underway in Imphal, where two new books were formally released at the DIPR Auditorium. Authored by Laishram Lokendro and Dr. Ushram Niranjan Kumar, the publications titled "Ekar Taruk Guntha Nipal" and "Folkloristicskee Wareng Khara" focus on Manipuri literature and folklore studies.

The book release event, organized by the Cultural Forum, Manipur, brought together prominent literary figures, including academic leaders and former language board convenors. Speakers at the gathering praised the authors for contributing to the preservation of cultural heritage and enriching local literary discourse.
