Club América Hosts Toluca in Key Apertura 2026 Match

Club América takes on Toluca this Saturday, October 31, 2026, at Estadio Banorte in Mexico City for a high-stakes Week 15 matchup of the Liga MX Apertura tournament. The game is scheduled to kick off at 9:10 PM Central Time, serving as a critical fixture as both squads approach the final stretch of the regular phase.

América enters the weekend holding the top position in the standings with 28 points, though the team is feeling pressure from trailing competitors. Under the guidance of manager Guillermo Almada, the squad is looking to bounce back from a recent 1-1 draw against Tijuana earlier in the week and aims to snap a five-match winless skid at home that dates back to the sixth round.

On the opposing side, Toluca arrives at Estadio Banorte positioned fifth in the table with 23 points. The Scarlet Devils are also seeking to return to winning ways after registering their third consecutive 1-1 tie, this time against León. A victory against their historic rivals would help secure their standing among the top tier of the league.

In team news, Toluca manager Antonio Mohamed made a notable strategic decision regarding his starting lineup by leaving star forwards Paulinho and Alexis Vega on the bench. Instead, Federico Viñas gets the nod to lead the attack alongside other tactical adjustments, while Paulinho and Vega await their opportunities as substitutes in the second half.

For América, key players such as Henry Martín, Brian Rodríguez, and Miguel Borja look to maintain their offensive impact. Martín has been a central figure for the Eagles this tournament, contributing significantly to the team's scoring statistics alongside his teammates. Furthermore, América will wear a special commemorative jersey honoring the Day of the Dead during this fixture.

Referee Luis Enrique Santander Aguirre has been appointed as the central official for the match, supported by assistant referees Michel Ricardo Espinoza Ávalos and Enedina Caudillo Gómez, alongside fourth official Martín Molina Astorga. Weather forecasts for Mexico City indicate a temperature around 64 degrees Fahrenheit with clear skies and no expected rainfall.

Fans in Mexico can watch the broadcast live on Canal 5 and TUDN, or stream the action via ViX Premium and the Layvtime YouTube channel. Viewers in the United States can follow the coverage through Univision, TUDN, and ViX platforms.
