The Cleveland Cavaliers visit the Atlanta Hawks at State Farm Arena for an Eastern Conference matchup featuring two teams looking to build momentum early in the NBA schedule. Tipoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET, with both squads stepping onto the court on the second night of a back-to-back series.

The Cavaliers enter the game holding a 3-1 record after securing a 121-111 home victory against the Washington Wizards. Despite a slow start that allowed the Wizards to score 42 points in the opening quarter, Cleveland tightened its defense in the second half, limiting Washington to 42 total points after halftime to secure their third consecutive win.

Evan Mobley led the charge for Cleveland in their previous outing with 24 points and 12 rebounds. Peyton Watson added 22 points, Donovan Mitchell contributed 19 points and seven assists, and James Harden chipped in 16 points. The Cavaliers shot 47 percent from the field and converted 14 of 38 attempts from beyond the arc.

Conversely, the Atlanta Hawks are aiming to halt a three-game losing skid after dropping a 129-117 home game to the Miami Heat. Atlanta fell behind by as many as 18 points in the first half after giving up 69 points before intermission. Despite a strong fourth-quarter push that cut the deficit to four points, the Hawks ultimately fell short.

Nickeil Alexander-Walker and Kingston Flemings each scored 23 points for Atlanta off the bench, while Jalen Johnson recorded 12 points, nine rebounds, 11 assists, and two blocks. As a team, the Hawks shot 48 percent from the field and hit 16 of 38 three-pointers, but struggled defensively in the paint, conceding 70 points to Miami and losing the rebounding battle 64-45.

The upcoming contest highlights a clash between Cleveland's frontcourt depth and Atlanta's playmaking abilities. The Cavaliers look to exploit interior weaknesses observed in Atlanta's recent defensive performance, while the Hawks rely on the facilitating skills of Johnson and their high-scoring offense, which averages 120.2 points per game.

Oddsmakers have listed the Hawks as slim 1.5-point favorites at home, with the over/under for total points set at 237.5. Last season, the two teams split their four head-to-head matchups, with the home team emerging victorious in each contest.
