Besiktas is set to take on Scottish side Celtic away in the fourth week of the UEFA Europa League group stage. The match will take place at Celtic Park, with the Turkish team aiming to continue its strong European run and secure points to advance in the tournament.

During the pre-match press conference, Besiktas Manager Vincenzo Italiano addressed the media regarding the team's preparations and squad status. Italiano emphasized the importance of squad trust and tactical cohesion, noting that some lineup adjustments will be necessary due to an upcoming domestic fixture scheduled for the weekend.

Providing updates on injured players, Italiano shared positive news regarding captain Orkun Kokcu, who has been sidelined with a partial plantar fascia tear in his right foot and a traumatic separation of the heel fat pad. The manager stated that Kokcu will be on the bench and that the coaching staff plans to give him playing time during the fixture. Meanwhile, Fabio Miretti remains unavailable due to a shoulder injury, though the team expects his return soon.

Italiano also discussed the contrasting dynamics between domestic league matches and European competitions, expressing satisfaction with Besiktas's performance in Europe thus far. Highlighting Celtic's current standing in the group stage without any points from their first three matches, the manager warned that facing a desperate opponent in a hostile stadium environment will present a formidable challenge.

In European competition statistics, Besiktas is preparing for its 268th match in continental tournaments. Across previous fixtures, the club has recorded 104 victories, 51 draws, and 112 losses. In the UEFA Cup and UEFA Europa League specifically, the team holds 64 wins, 26 draws, and 52 defeats across 142 games.

On the opposing side, Celtic enters the fixture leading the Scottish Premiership with 28 points, sitting four points ahead of their closest rival, Rangers. However, their European campaign has struggled following defeats against Ferencvaros, Benfica, and Celta Vigo, leaving them eager to secure their first points in the group stage.

The crucial UEFA Europa League encounter will be officiated by German referee Sascha Stegemann, with assistance from sideline officials and video assistant referees. Kickoff is scheduled for late evening, and the match will be broadcast live for supporters tracking the continental campaign.
