Arsenal maintained their strong pursuit of the Premier League summit with a convincing 2-0 victory over Everton at the Emirates Stadium, drawing level on points with Manchester City. Mikel Arteta's side secured the three points through goals from Ezri Konsa and Gabriel, while a combination of defensive authority and midfield control ensured Everton struggled to establish themselves throughout the match.

The fixture arrived just three days after Arsenal's demanding Champions League encounter in Munich, but any early concerns of fatigue were quickly erased. Arsenal broke the deadlock following a corner when Ben White and Gabriel attacked an in-swinging delivery at the near post. Everton managed to block the initial effort, but Konsa was positioned correctly at the far post to prod the ball over the line from close range, scoring his first goal for the club since arriving from Aston Villa in August.

The breakthrough also marked Arsenal's first set-piece goal of the season, ending a surprising run without scoring from similar situations. Although the second half lacked open-play creativity, Arsenal effectively controlled the tempo by keeping possession away from the visitors, preventing Everton from building any sustained attacking momentum.

Everton did manage to mount responses, particularly in the first half when Tyrique George and Thierno Barry created scoring opportunities. The visitors nearly capitalized on a defensive miscue just before halftime when White attempted to pass back to David Raya, allowing Barry to intercept. However, Raya produced a crucial save to preserve Arsenal's lead and prevent an embarrassing equalizer.

As the match progressed into the second half, Arsenal sealed the win through Gabriel. Following a recycled corner sequence, White delivered a cross to the far post, where Gabriel was waiting to head the ball in from inside the six-yard box. The defender delivered a commanding performance despite a brief scare regarding a potential knee injury earlier in the half.

Arteta's side navigated the match without the injured Bukayo Saka, who faces an extended absence that could sideline him for up to two months. Fill-in options Noni Madueke and Eberechi Eze showed glimpses of promise but failed to fully replicate Saka's creative output, leaving the team searching for more clinical attacking solutions moving forward.

Despite registering 20 total shots with only four on target, Arsenal's defensive resilience and ability to win ugly proved decisive. The victory keeps the Gunners level with Manchester City at the top of the table, highlighting their ongoing consistency and defensive depth as the Premier League season progresses.
