The Argentine Football Association (AFA) has officially released the list of match officials for the 16th round of the Torneo Clausura. The upcoming fixtures, which carry significant weight for playoff positioning and international qualification, will be overseen by a full roster of referees, assistant referees, and VAR officials. The matches are scheduled to take place from Thursday, November 5, through Sunday, November 8.

Among the notable absences for this round are referees Nicolás Ramírez and Yael Falcón Pérez. According to official reports, Ramírez requested a leave of absence to undergo a scheduled surgical procedure, while Falcón Pérez is stepping away due to paternity leave. These absences come at a time when the officiating landscape in Argentina faces intense scrutiny regarding consistency and decision-making.

The high-stakes matches on Saturday, which will influence the final standings for the annual table, have been assigned to Sebastián Zunino, Pablo Dóvalo, and Hernán Mastrángelo. Zunino is set to officiate the Boca Juniors versus Defensa y Justicia match, while Dóvalo will oversee the Argentinos Juniors against Huracán fixture. Mastrángelo has been appointed to manage the game between Rosario Central and Estudiantes de Río Cuarto.

The scheduling includes several critical matchups on Friday, where multiple games will be played simultaneously to determine playoff spots. Juan Pafundi will referee the Independiente versus Deportivo Riestra match, Felipe Viola will handle San Lorenzo against Platense, and Andrés Gariano is assigned to the Unión versus Vélez encounter. Additionally, Darío Herrera will officiate the Barracas Central versus Racing game, with Fabrizio Llobet managing the VAR.

The round kicks off on Thursday with Bryan Ferreyra officiating the Aldosivi versus River Plate match, followed by Luis Lobo Medina in charge of Gimnasia versus Belgrano. Other fixtures throughout the weekend include the provincial classic between Gimnasia de Mendoza and Independiente Rivadavia, which will be officiated by Facundo Tello, and the Sunday closing match between Central Córdoba and Lanús, led by Álvaro Carranza.

The officiating appointments have drawn attention as clubs compete for local advantages and tournament progression. With the league reaching a decisive stage, the performance of these officials remains a focal point for fans and analysts alike, particularly as the AFA continues to navigate criticisms regarding the management of the sport and the transparency of its officiating protocols.
