Spanish actor Jorge de Juan announced that he is suffering from stage IV pancreatic cancer following several months of struggling with digestive and abdominal health issues. The 65-year-old artist communicated the news directly through his social media channels, informing the public of his condition.

According to the actor, the tumor is currently inoperable, and the primary medical objective at this stage is to slow the progression of the disease. Despite the severity of his medical prognosis, de Juan expressed a sense of hope and confidence that scientific advancements might yield new treatments.

Reflecting on his diagnosis in a statement, de Juan said, "I do not know how much time I have left. I hope it is a lot." Following his public announcement, the actor received numerous messages of warmth and support from figures within the cultural community, including Miguel Poveda, Maribel Verdú, Rocío Muñoz-Cobo, and Laia Manzanares.

Born in Cartagena in 1961, de Juan boasts an extensive career spanning film, theater, and television. He has participated in roughly thirty audiovisual productions and numerous theatrical stagings, with notable credits including the films 'Abre los ojos' ('Open Your Eyes') and 'Silencio en la nieve' ('Silence in the Snow'), as well as the television series 'Asuntos internos'.

In addition to his acting career, de Juan has worked extensively as a theater director and producer. He resided in London for several years, during which time he founded the Spanish Theatre Company to promote Spanish and Latin American theatrical works. In late 2025, he returned to Spain to participate in a project titled 'El abismo' ('The Abyss'), collaborating with his son, Mario Alemany.

In a separate medical development, ongoing research into pancreatic cancer continues globally, including experimental treatments such as targeted vaccines aimed at activating the body's natural defenses in patients. Medical researchers are continuously exploring innovative approaches to tackle pancreatic malignancies, which remain among the most challenging diagnoses in oncology.
